Ted might not be talking to Barney but he still lives by Barney’s Dating Etiquette. The rule this time - never make plans with a women if it’s farther in the future than the time you’ve been dating. The wedding is in 6 months but they’ve only been dating 3. So Ted panics and dumps her.

Remember back in the episode “The Bracket” when Barney tried to figure out what spurned lover was sabotaging his game? Well, it was Abby (Britney Spears) who is, by the way, completely crazy. They do have something in common, though: the hatred of Ted (or, really, the complete undying devotion of Ted which has been spurned). The two hatch a plan to make Ted see the error of his ways. They want Ted to know how lame he is for the bro breakup (which I call the bro-kup) and for dating Stella, Abby’s boss. So they go to the bar posing as a happy couple… dressed in similar outfits and everything.

LOS ANGELES, April 28 — Singer Britney Spears will return to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER to guest star in an episode to be broadcast Monday, May 12 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Production on the episode began today.
